Running the Race as a Winner Day Twenty-two

Running the Race as a Winner

Day Twenty-two

My righteousness is sure.

He washed away all sin.

Clothed in his glory secure,

Through him I entered in.[i]

As winners running the race we may stumble over someone else’s behavior, thoughtless words, our old habits, etc. We may find ourselves loaded down with desires of our old nature and have to put them off so we can run uninhibited. We are winners because we wear Mashiach’s righteousness – clothing without weight, but with the warmth of the love of God. We are winners because we entered the race through Yeshua – the door – and we won’t get off the track till we reach the goal. We are running the race as winners and no matter how often we find we’ve on the extra weight of sin and have to take it off, we are; nevertheless, on the trail and the target is always ahead. We may stumble, we may find ourselves in deep water; but the objective is always there. Through the clouds and the fog, in spite of our feelings or absence of feeling, the glory of the Lord is there in spite of everything, always faithful and true.

Mashiach is our victory[ii]and he sits with God and makes intercession for us with the testimony of his perfect sacrifice. Nothing can separate us from the love of God. Nothing can take away his grace and kindness. His love wasn’t conditioned on our worth before we were born into his family –made clean by his blood – and like him, his love is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

Prayer: Lord, you are my faithful, dear and true Savior. I can always be sure of my righteousness in you. Lord, I believe, help thou my unbelief.
