The Revelation Given to John by Jesus Through the Angel
The great choir in Heaven singing reminds me of a funeral of someone very dear to me. I had been told that a few months before his death he made his peace with God, but having heard the same thing a couple of times before, I could only hope it was true. Then as I was sitting at the graveside service, I heard a choir singing and when I looked up I saw them in the air. Bill was there singing and smiling at me. They were singing about meeting me at the rapture[ii].
This is the celebration that takes place after all Yahweh’s children are in Heaven together. We have seen the evil world order defeated and destroyed – God finally doing something about all the bad things that happen in this old world. It is feasible that everyone who ever blamed Yahweh for the bad things that happen and asked, mockingly, why God doesn’t put a stop to evil, are now sad to see that he has had enough and is putting a stop to the rampant wickedness[iii].
The unregenerate world may be sorry to see God finally doing something about the sin[iv]; but in Heaven we will be rejoicing. We have seen Yahweh’s goodness and are able to see man’s inadequacy; and now we are in Heaven with our Lord, absent our earthly imperfections and clothed in the beauty and righteousness of our King.
The next thing John saw was the groom riding in[vii]on a white horse of victory. The symbols of a blaze of fire (all seeing eyes), many crowns (all authority), blood soaked robe (death on the cross as payment for our sin), called the Word of God (the representation of who Yahweh is) are written in our hearts as the only begotten Son of Yahweh[viii]. The sharp sword coming out of his mouth (the Word of God is living and powerful, sharper than any two edged sword, discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart) is his weapon and scepter. The armies of Heaven followed him on white horses of victory, dressed in white clean linen symbolizing the righteousness of Mashiach.
Then John saw the Beast assembled with earth’s leaders and their armies[xi] to make war against our Mashiach and his army of the Redeemed. By his word of righteousness, Yeshua took the false Prophet and the Beast[xii] and threw them alive into the lake of fire and brimstone. The rest were killed by the sword that comes from the mouth of Yeshua[xiii]. We don’t know how this will work, but we do know that Yeshua’s sword is not made of steal. The weapons of our God are spiritual[xiv], not physical. Remember the armor[xv] of our God is spiritual. Obadiah 15-18 speaks about those that fight against Yahweh and his people defeating themselves.[xvi]Or maybe Yeshua just said, “Die” and they died. One thing we do know, it is by his word[xvii]just as it was when he brought the planet and galaxies into existence.
Then John saw an angel descending from Heaven with a key to the Abyss (the bottomless pit where the locusts came from[xviii]) and a chain. He seized the Dragon Satan, chained him and threw him into the Abyss, shut and sealed for a thousand years, at which time he will be let lose for a brief time. Zachariah[xix] prophesied about the thousand years in chapter 14:16-21 that everyone with mortal life will be required to go up to Jerusalem to worship the King and celebrate the Feast of Booths, or Tabernacles celebrated five days after the Day of Atonement. The Feast of Tabernacles is a joyous final time of celebration and thanksgiving for the ears harvest. There can be no buying or selling on that day – no business as usual. One would think this would make everyone happy, but unregenerate humans will still have the greater desire to acquire fame and fortune for themselves. Micah tells of a time, and I believe it is these thousand years, when Yahweh’s temple[xx] will be a place where people will flow to be taught by Yahweh how they ought to live[xxi]; a time when people will live in peace and The Lord will be the righteous judge of the nations. The family of Yahweh lived and reigned with Mashiach; they were in the first resurrection[xxii]. We are priests of Yahweh and will be a part of his reign[xxiii] of justice and peace[xxiv].
There are some people who will always live in “today”, take the responsibility for their own actions, and strive for the best in life. They don’t have time for resentment. These are the ones who will be saying, “Let’s go up to the mountain of God and learn how to live life to its fullest,” and they will be taught by Yahweh and find peace and joy in him.
Conversely, there are always people who live in the past and the purported evil done to their ancestors, rather real or imagined, and they pass that attitude of unjust treatment given to their ancestors down to their descendants. As an example, the Germans (not all of them of course) who let resentment for a lost war fester after the First World War until they were willing to commit the atrocities of the Second World War. All around us are people whose lives are interrupted by a constant struggle to make the rest of the world pay for what history records (sometimes written history and sometimes tradition) about the bad things done to their ancestors. It always seems to these people like their ancestors were perfect and innocent, while everyone else was evil and cruel. We know that isn’t true because all have sinned – or no one’s perfect – but the preserved wrongs done to a group’s ancestors takes hold of some people and the lie becomes truth in their minds. These are the kind of people who will resent the authority of Yahweh and his family[xxv].
Therefore, when Satan is let loose from his cell his victims’ hearts, full of resentment from the distant past, will be ripe for deception[xxvi]. He will talk millions into going to war against the beloved city[xxvii] , but they will no sooner reach Zion than fire will pour out of Heaven and burn them up[xxviii]. The Deceiver will be flung into the Lake of Fire and Brimstone where the Beast and False Prophet are, and there they will stay forever.
Next John sees a Yeshua sitting on a Great White Throne[xxix]. What John sees isn’t a chronological step by step of Judgment; it is a comprehensive look at the “judgment seat of Christ”[xxx]. The dead in Christ were resurrected either before the fall of Babylon[xxxi]or, as some believe, long before. I personally believe it will be at Mashiach’s second coming[xxxii] and that the Bridegroom[xxxiii] will come to the marriage supper with his bride, the Church. We will be judged by the way we have lived, as the Redeemed of Yahweh, clothed in the righteousness of Mashiach. Everything we have done in the flesh will be gone, whether it is for the church or for any other reason. Everything we have done in the spirit, controlled by the Spirit of Yahweh, will last[xxxiv]. We stand before the judgment seat of Mashiach confident, because of our standing in Mashiach – righteous before our God because of Yeshua Ha Mashiach.
The second resurrection will bring the ones not written in the Lambs Book of Life because they have been trying to get by with their own righteousness. They have turned their backs on the free gift of Salvation – Eternal Life through the conquering death and resurrection of Yahweh’s Son, Yeshua Ha Mashiach. They have chosen to live without God and Yahweh has granted them the right to spend eternity without him. Their bodies and spirits are put in the Lake of Fire with the devil, the Beast, and the False Prophet, where they will spend eternity with their buddies. But there won’t be any fellowship. Camaraderie is part of who Yahweh is, and they have chosen to reject God; so they will spend eternity separated from all the goodness and light that emits from Yahweh.
